WELCOME TO ELC BRISTOL

A family-run school, offering intensive General English and examination preparation courses for students from all over the world.

Bristol is a lively university city and the cultural centre of the West of England.

I really hope you like this website - it was designed by our students! Hopefully, it will answer all your questions.

STUDENT RESIDENCE, STUDENT HOUSES AND FLATS (SELF-CATERING)

Some students like to be independent and to cook for themselves instead of living with traditional homestay families and, as a result, self-catering accommodation is very popular at ELC Bristol. In self-catering accommodation you will be living with other students from the school, and sometimes also British people, in student houses, smaller flats or our large student residence. All of our self-catering accommodation is within maximum 20 minutes' walk of the school.

This accommodation is available for our students throughout the year.

Wellington Park and Granby Hill are two of our most popular houses.

We have around 60 bedrooms in total in more than 15 different student houses, flats and the residence, and also some self-catering in family homes. All our houses are quite different and have different facilities and atmospheres.

Our year-round student residence, St John's House, has 28 bedrooms for students, 5 shared kitchens, 2 living rooms and a garden for students to use. Some of the student houses also have more students (maximum 10) and are more sociable, communal environments. Other self-catering flats may have just 2 or 3 students and have a quieter, more tranquil feel.

Some houses have private showers or complete en suite bathrooms in every room. Some houses have TVs in every bedroom, others have TVs in the communal areas. All of our houses have wifi internet access for students to use with their laptops. Some houses have living areas, others do not. All our houses have washing machines.

Self-catering accommodation is really popular at ELC Bristol (especially as many places are such high quality!), so please book as early as possible and always check with us first to be sure you get the type of accommodation you prefer and that the houses are not all full.

Making your own arrangements

Some students prefer to make arrangements themselves, and find their own accommodation in Bristol. The websites (see below) and newspaper tend to offer slightly cheaper student accommodation in shared houses and flats, while the agencies tend to offer more expensive, higher quality places, often suitable for families or couples, often for minimum contracts of six months or more.

With regard to which agency we can recommend, we can say that AA Property Services have always been exceptionally friendly and helpful.

If you are looking to stay in Bristol for a shorter period of time, have a look at this website, which specialise in short-term lets in the Clifton area- Clifton Quarters
