It was so nice to receive a visit from an old student who studied with us 7 years ago. Lobsang is a monk from Tibet and decided to drop in on his friend, Konchok, who is studying with us at the moment. Konchok is a monk from India. Pictured from left to right is Konchok, John, Lobsang and Margaret.

Another lovely, sunny day in Bristol. We walked from the school to the SS Great Britain, Bristol's number one tourist attraction. It was the world's first ocean-going, propeller-driven iron-hulled steam ship. Built in Bristol by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, it was the biggest ship in the world at that time. On the way, we passed another of Brunel's great engineering masterpieces, the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

It was a very windy Windsor last Saturday but the sun shone from time to time and the castle looked as impressive as ever. The Queen was not at home as the Union flag was flying rather than the Royal Standard. However, we witnessed the Changing of the Guards which was a great photo opportunity. Next weekend we are staying in Bristol and visiting the SS Great Britain.

The weather was absolutely perfect in Cambridge last weekend. It was icy cold but the sun shone all day. The students took some fantastic pictures, some of which can be seen on our facebook page. Most of the students enjoyed a punt on the Cam with a university student as our guide. The weather forecast for this weekend is cloudy but Windsor Castle looks magnificent in all weathers.

The weather improved dramatically for our first excursion of 2012. After a pleasant stroll around the city and an early lunch, the students visited the world-famous Roman Baths Museum. 2000 years of history beautifully preserved and with an informative audio guide. Did you know that the waters are naturally heated to a constant temperature of 46 degrees? Did you know that the spa waters fell as rain on the Mendip Hills 30 thousand years ago? More fascinating facts next week on our trip to Cambridge.
